Your work is stuck. That's why you're here.
We help leadership teams get stalled projects finished. Strategic Delivery HQ is our 30-day setup: one simple system for what gets done, who owns it, and when.
It runs in the tools you already use, so you stop hoping and start expecting.
Curious where your work gets stuck?
Good people. Full calendars. Slow deliverables.
One company, before and after.
200+ active projects → became 20 core initiatives
- The situation
- The company was in a growth cycle, so new work kept arriving. With no company goals, there was nothing to prioritize it against, or the work already underway. Everything was “in progress”: over 200 active projects, many with deadlines that were never possible.
- What we did
- We implemented Strategic Delivery HQ. It started with a set of company goals, then one place for new requests. From there, we cut the list to the work that mapped to the 20 core initiatives.
- The outcome
- Every project ties to company goals and the numbers that track them. Teams stay focused, and business as usual and project goals both move faster. New work is decided as a team, and executives see progress in real time. All 20 core initiatives completed at least one phase, or finished outright, by year end.

A system that runs without us
Everything documented and organized in your own tools, with training so your team runs it on its own.
See how it would work for your team.
Built by people who've been inside the machine.
We've spent our careers inside companies that had good people, a good product, and work that still wouldn't move. We know what that costs the people carrying it.
Next Step Consulting is led by Nic Denison, who runs the work personally. A small team joins when the work calls for it.
Most consultants leave behind something only they can run. We build the opposite: a system your team owns. When we step out, it keeps going. And we stay reachable after we leave; you just won't need us to keep it running.
Common questions
What is Strategic Delivery HQ?
Strategic Delivery HQ is a framework and a working system for how your company chooses, tracks, and finishes its work. It is built inside the tools you already own, so there is no new software to learn. It has four connected parts.
- Company Goals (OKR Lite). One shared destination, with milestones every team can trust.
- A mapped project portfolio. Every material project connected to the goal it serves, so duplicates and misaligned work show up.
- Intake and review. One front door for new work, a prioritization gate, and a review cadence with a named owner.
- A documented hub. Everything organized in one place, with training so your team runs it without us.
The work also produces a Strategic Delivery Findings & Momentum Plan: confidential findings from inside your delivery environment, the quick wins we complete along the way, and the leadership decisions only you can make. Findings point to process gaps, missing tools, and unclear ownership. We never evaluate individual people.
It is installed in a 30-day setup, and your team owns it from there.
Who is a good fit for Strategic Delivery HQ?
It is for companies ready to trade the scramble for a system. You are likely a fit if you have:
- An executive sponsor who understands why this kind of rigor matters.
- A team open to change, especially one worn down by shifting priorities and a growing to-do list.
- A small to midsize company. We have worked across most industries, and the strongest results come from companies of this size.
- Timing that works. The earlier a system is in place, the less growth slows your work. Founder-led teams can be ideal, though a system is often the last thing you want in an experimental phase.

- We agree on next steps. If it looks like a fit, we send what you need to start your 30-day setup. If it doesn't, we tell you.
